How long does a reference check take?
Standard turnaround is 1–7 days, depending on how quickly the reference responds. We reach out over email and WhatsApp simultaneously and keep following up automatically until we get an answer.
What happens if a reference doesn't respond?
We continue automated follow-ups over email and WhatsApp, and can request an alternate contact from the candidate if the original reference remains unreachable, so a single quiet contact doesn't stall the check indefinitely.
Are reference responses shared with the candidate?
No - reference responses are compiled into your verification report for internal hiring review and are not shared verbatim with the candidate.
Can I choose who gets contacted as a reference?
The candidate submits contact details for each reference - typically a manager, HR representative, or peer per employment. You can also request additional or alternate contacts if the original reference is unreachable.
