What does a Court Check actually search?
It searches India's public eCourts database for criminal and civil cases matching the candidate's name, father's name, and address. The check is automatically initiated the moment a case is submitted.
Why do some checks come back "Inconclusive" instead of Clear or Flagged?
Court records don't always include every identifying detail — a father's name or address may be missing, and spellings can vary. When a possible match can't be conclusively confirmed or ruled out against the candidate, we grade it Inconclusive rather than guess, and route it through a Police Clearance Certificate to reach a definitive answer.
What happens after a case is graded Inconclusive?
The candidate is asked for a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). Once received, our team validates it and re-grades the case to a final status — without re-running the original court search or incurring a duplicate charge.
Can we configure how strict the matching and grading is?
Yes. Your grading matrix can be configured to your risk appetite, for example, flagging only exact name-and-address matches while auto-clearing partial or namesake matches, or taking a stricter stance and escalating every partial match for review.
How long does a Court Check take?
The initial eCourts search is automated and fast. If a case escalates to the PCC path, acknowledgement typically takes 1–3 days, with the final government-issued certificate taking longer depending on the issuing authority.
What's the difference between Court Check, CRT-LF, and Court Check (Law Firm)?
Court Check is an automated search across India's digitised eCourts database, covering records since 2000 pan-India, typically returning a result within hours, with the report on vendor letterhead. CRT-LF is the identical search and speed, just delivered on an advocate's letterhead instead — useful when a client specifically requires that format. Court Check (Law Firm) is a different product entirely: a manually initiated, attorney-conducted check where a lawyer physically visits the police station covering the candidate's declared jurisdiction and reviews the last 7 years on-site, with findings issued on law firm letterhead within about 2 working days — intended for BFSI, banking, and other high-trust roles that need verification beyond digitised records. It is a distinct product from a Police Clearance Certificate and isn't a substitute for one.
Does a pending case automatically disqualify a candidate?
No. The report distinguishes between a pending matter and a conviction, and between civil and criminal cases — the hiring decision is always yours to make with that full context, not an automatic disqualification.
