“Ideally, in a hiring process there should only be one interview. In this interview, the HR manager should evaluate the candidate as an individual to see if there is a cultural fit and a whiff of emotional equity. The rest can, and should be taken care of using technology.”

This is the ideal recruiting and hiring scenario painted by our CEO, Kartik Mandaville.

“We are far from such a scenario,” he continues. “There are professional profiles online, better social attestations of skills, better profile matching algorithms, hiring ATSs and online skill evaluation platforms. Yet, there are major gaps in our processes today. We aim to bridge these gaps. We are building the tools and products which would lead us to a recruiting future which we feel should have been ours already.”

Almost all of the technology we are building right now revolves around the above thesis. We found something lacking in the current system and changed it.

SpringVerify is one such piece in the larger puzzle of hiring. We found that there was little to no technology being used in background verification processes. Background checks were still being done by using the same old paper forms, collecting hard copies of documents, and worse still, providing physical reports.

This had to change. There is a lot which could be done in the background verification space. For one, we could do good using online forms and provide digital reports.

The future of work

The future is remote. Collaboration needs to happen between folks living thousands of miles apart. It is already happening, and we will see more and more teams spread across the globe.

The working landscape has changed dramatically over the last couple of decades. Things have moved from being efficiency-centric to being human-centric. There is a great emphasis on building a team which will resonate the brand values, the company culture, and the cohesiveness needed to pull off amazing work. The trend will only accelerate from here on.

With the advent of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain; every job role is set for a major overhaul in the coming years. Work will entail more creativity and more of how we use technology to automate the non-creative parts.

Great teams aren’t a product of chance. They are built meticulously. We believe the focus of future hires would fall back to human capacity and compatibility. Hiring fast and hiring right will become a core focus of any team going forward if it is not already.

We are building technologies to drive the future of work.

Hiring in the future will need to be super-efficient. Technology will have solved some of the problems we are facing right now. But hiring the right candidate will become tougher.
