We spoke to Chandipriya Marisetti- Assistant Manager, HR at Hydus, an XTIVIA Company.

Below is an edited version of the transcription based on our discussion, where she shares her experience of using SpringVerify.

“SpringVerify team goes above and beyond verification.”

I had an issue with the standard agreement from SpringVerify even before onboarding, but the team understood my problem and worked on a tailormade agreement. It was dealt with in a very professional manner. I was impressed, and the first impression was the right one.

“I can be at peace after uploading candidate details for verification.”

When I upload a candidate detail, I don’t need to go back and follow up with SpringVerify or the candidate about anything. Even if the candidate doesn’t share the details, I see reminder emails going out automatically with no intervention from my end.

I consider Hydus to be very well-organized in terms of the recruitment process. We do a CTC check of every candidate manually before rolling out an offer, as we don’t want to run an elaborate background check for all the applicants. We only upload details of the candidate who have accepted the offer from Hydus.

In some instances, even after the internal team cleared the manual CTC check, SpringVerify was able to find the actual information, which differed from the results of the manual check. Therefore, SpringVerify is now a need as every information on the report is reliable compared to manual checks.

We used a different service provider before who would send physical documents signed by the candidate to a third-party vendor for verification and then courier a report back to us; it was time-consuming and impractical. SpringVerify has removed all the unnecessary layers and made it a very sophisticated process.

Settling into SpringVerify was extremely easy, and it’s a convenient tool; it barely takes me a few minutes to initiate a check, and then everything else is automated with necessary alerts directly reaching my inbox.

The dashboard is pretty straightforward. Icons and color-coding represent each verification process stage; it saves tons of time than opening each file and checking the status.

What was your requirement?

Entomo is an ISO-certified organization, and as a part of the compliance guidelines, a background check for every candidate we hire is mandatory. Apart from that aspect, we use job portals, referrals, and several other sources to hire candidates; hence making background checks critical to employing genuine talent.

What problem were you trying to solve when looking for a background verification partner?

The background checking process was done internally before we onboarded SpringVerify. The Human Resources team usually got good feedback because the references shared by the candidates mainly were their acquaintances. But we realized that it was not the best way of doing a verification as we may not get genuine feedback.

Now that I have SpringVerify, I can make out a difference. We are informed about a candidate in detail and the companies he has worked with.

What aspects would you rate as Excellent about SpringVerify?

The one-view feature on the dashboard displays all the consolidated numbers for pending checks, insufficiencies, progress, etc. It makes it quick and easy to monitor.

What role does SpringVerify play in Zinnov’s service offerings?

As part of our offering to help global companies set up their India centers, we also implement and program manage the set-up, including talent acquisition. As part of the same, we are responsible for a wide array of HR functions including background verification. The Challenge

To meet compliance requirements and as part of company policies, Loginext was looking for a background verification service provider that would verify its candidates based on their customized needs.
They did not want another standalone software that would burden their Human Resources team with coordination and needed assurance that it would integrate with their existing HRMS.
Turnaround time was another top criterion because they were a growing organization and could have volume hiring at certain times of the year.

What was your requirement?

In every organization, the first 5-10 employees come from personal contacts, so we don’t think of background verification at that point. But beyond that, when we start hiring from job portals, there is a need for verification to ensure all the details shared by the candidate are truthful.

By the time Swageazy had 7+ employees, we wanted to organize, store employee details, and verify every new hire to ensure a trustworthy team.

Describe your experience from interacting with the SpringVerify team.

When I got a demo from the sales team of SpringVerify, I was amazed by it.

This case study discusses how WazirX started with candidate verifications and went on an unexpected overdrive in hiring from the estimated 50 to 250+ in less than one year. As a result, the customer identified a need for a new feature that would help better monitor the surge in verifications and how SpringVerify addressed the requirement and implemented a solution in just a week.

WazirX is an India-based crypto exchange platform where users can buy, sell, trade Bitcoin & other crypto-assets. Users on this platform can buy, sell & trade crypto-assets & Bitcoin. It is touted as India’s largest crypto trading exchange.

WazirX crossed $566 Million in daily trading volume in October 2021 and is estimating $1b daily trading by the end of the year.

The crucial challenges that SpringVerify helped WazirX overcome

The involvement of the HR partner was tremendously high during candidate background checks.
The entire verification process was being done manually with too many email exchanges.
Hiring volumes were high, and they needed something quick, smooth and effective.
Candidate experience was missing during background verification.

Getting Started

Soumya V – HR Manager at WazirX, found SpringVerify through a simple Google search and requested a demo. She loved the simplicity & ease of using the dashboard and decided to go with a package of Employee Verification with a specific focus on Court Check & Credit Check for all new hires.

The recruitment team at WazirX has been using SpringVerify for their background verification since Dec 2020. They reached out to us, and within a week, we set up their account and made it available.

The day-to-day operations are to upload the candidate details and facilitate the background verification. In addition, the senior management uses the dashboard to track & pull out reports for monitoring purposes.

Our Solution - Simplify, Automate & Customise

From our initial discussions with the WazirX team, we realised that they needed a smooth, easy and automated solution that could reduce the dependency on HR personnel and make the candidate experience much better.

Candidate details, document collection, real-time updates, insufficiency or issues, etc. are done in a more structured way on the dashboard by the customer.
Our service ensures that the HR Partner is reached out to only if there is a pressing issue. Even during high volumes of hiring – our process is so thorough; it never goes out of hand. In case of no response, delay in response, insufficiencies, long pending issues and other such blockers, HR partners are called for intervention. Otherwise, from the time a candidate uploads the documents – verifications, follow-ups, reports, and everything else is automated and updated on the dashboard.

SpringVerify not only focuses on the customer experience, but we also ensure a positive candidate experience by making it easy, simple & straightforward to participate in the process.

The most valued feature on SpringVerify is the Quick View – it makes it easy for the user to get an instant update on the verifications. In addition, it gives a consolidated overview of everything in its simplest form – status, insufficiencies, issues, etc., in one place without having to go through each report for updates.

Traditionally the HR would have to personally collect the documents from all the candidates, segregate & maintain them. Then they pass it on to the background verification team and manually follow up on progress until it’s complete. They also need to take care of candidate onboarding after the verification.

The SpringVerify dashboard experience distributes the effort between the HR & the candidate. First, the HR raises the verification request by entering basic details. The candidate then uploads all requested documents. We then begin verification and update the progress on the dashboard at every step. Not only that, but we also directly follow up with the candidate for any pending documents and information needed without the intervention of the customer. A real-time interim report also gets generated through which the HR can view documents and their progress at each stage instead of waiting for the final consolidated verification report.

SpringVerify teams’ approachability and proactive communication with fast turnaround timelines were among the most appreciated qualities by the customer.

The sudden surge in hiring and how SpringVerify addressed it effortlessly

From 50 to 250+ verification requests in less than a year.

During onboarding time, the estimated number of hires for the year was 30-50 candidates. However, WazirX ended up hiring 250+ candidates during the same time frame.

These verification volumes were seamlessly executed through the SpringVerify dashboard and we were able to deliver the surged demand without any hiccups smoothly.

There were times when WazirX was rolling out 10-15 offers a week. The SpringVerify dashboard & the backend team helped with staying on top of all of it by notifying the progress of the checks from time to time.

‘Categories’ filter for better monitoring

When WazirX’s hiring went on an overdrive, and there were verifications happening at an all-time high, they were unable to pay attention to insufficiencies/delays by the candidates despite the daily email reminders that we sent out. As a result some verifications/insufficiencies were as old as 4-5 months which had not been looked into.

They then analysed how to solve this issue & decided to split the candidate profiles into respective teams they were being hired for, based on their designations/profiles. SpringVerify dashboard needed a filter with a CATEGORIES view to understand which team had the maximum blockers. We were able to develop this feature for them in less than one week, including the implementation.

The new feature enabled them to channel the blockers to the teams’ respective managers to sort and address the delays with their respective candidates.

We spoke to Sujoy Ghosh – Co-Founder & CTO at Datacultr about his experience using SpringVerify. The below information is a transcription of his responses during our discussion.

What was your requirement?

As part our ISO 27001 compliance journey, we were required to ensure that all our new hires were background verified. Further given the sensitivity of the data processed by us, we believed that it would strengthen our resource pool when we onboard talent from across the country.

What were your criteria for choosing a background verification partner?

We are growing at a significant pace, and the overall turnaround time was an important factor.
Further since we were just getting started with verification and this was our first time, we wanted flexibility in the packages to try and figure out what works for us.
The cost was an obvious comparison; we wanted something competitive & basic to start with.

What caught your attention during the demo?

The Digital Address Verification caught my attention. It essentially speeds up the verification process, so I was quite interested in that feature.

How has your overall experience been with us from demo to verification?

I did a significant amount of search before submitting the demo request. However, the overall experience was very good, which essentially helped me jump over the fence. The SpringVerify team ensured that I did not drop off during the process and kept me engaged throughout.

The sales representative knew what he was dealing with; the process was simple. I believe the representative was quite professional in addressing that as well.

The customer success team took over immediately after the agreement, and the onboarding process started, which was very smooth &, most importantly, once again simple. I would say they know how to handle new customers.

Also, the feeling that you get during the interactions matter, and I was quite impressed with how every step of the journey was planned and detailed.

What difference did you feel when you did verifications in-house and after you onboarded SpringVerify?

We manually verified whatever we could, which was not very informative or accurate. So having a system in place made a lot of sense. There is a seamless process that SpringVerify follows, which helps give us a fair view of the candidate history to make a better decision.

What is the most valuable feature of SpringVerify according to you?

The feedback we get about insufficiencies is very detailed and documented. It helps us get every bit of information about it and helps us evaluate the situation better. That is where we underline value. So I would hold SpringVerify in good regard for the inputs we get for every verification.

What do you think about our customer service and user experience?

I have barely had any interaction with customer service, and there was no need. The dashboard has been sufficient & the automated emails give us every other detail. So, there’s little to no need to get in touch with a customer service team for SpringVerify. But for the way we have been informed and taken care of from the beginning, I would rate the service – 10/10.

What was your requirement?

DeepSource deals with source code which is confidential information for companies. To maintain security, we need to have standard compliance called SOC2 in order to have the best security practice. Companies that want to follow best practices of security use SOC2 compliance. As part of SOC2 compliance, companies must background check every employee they hire. That’s how we came up with the requirement for background verification.

The onboarding was great. It was a simple product and was easy to use. We were up and running within a week.
